Shane Faganello

B.Sc. M.C., C.C.C.

Certified Clinical Counsellor

Faganello Counselling is family-owned and operated in Nanaimo, British Columbia. I grew up in Nanaimo, but received my formal education and training in Victoria. I received degrees from Camosun College, the University of Victoria and City University of Seattle. I completed two Internships with The Men's Trauma Centre and I continue to be associated with them now. In my experience the success of counselling comes down to the trust the client has in the counselor. Therefore, as a counsellor in Nanaimo I attempt to match the best fit of Counselling theory to each Client while using an overarching Client Centered approach. Within this framework I also use:

  • Narrative Therapy
  • Response Based Therapy
  • Solution Focused Therapy
  • Family Systems Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Exposure Therapy

Shane's areas of practice also includes:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Addiction
  • Anger Management
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Men’s Issues
  • Couples
  • Family
  • Individual & Group
  • Children 6+
  • Youth 12+
  • Adults who have experienced childhood abuse (physical, sexual, emotional)

Counselling is as individual a process as those who receive it. There are many different forms of counselling and we will work with you to find the right fit for you. In my experience the success of counselling comes down to the trust the client has in the counselor.
