Dr. Stacey Scott is a chiropractor and owner of a very successful private practice, which she founded in 1994 in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Dr. Scott graduated with both academic and clinical honours. Upon graduation she continued to study kinesiology, psychology, nutrition and sports nutrition. She also completed part one and part two of the American Team Physicians course. In 1996 she received her fellowship in Sports Injury and Rehabilitation*. This four year program deems her a sports specialist by the Canadian Chiropractic Association. In 2004 Dr. Scott became a certified provider of Active Release Therapy (A.R.T.).
Dr. Scott was a member of the Canadian Olympic Health Care Team during the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver/Whistler BC, which in her words was, "the experience of a lifetime! Working with fellow professionals and athletes from around the world was everything I imagined and more. One couldn't ask for a better opportunity!" In fact, the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College did a feature on Dr. Scott and fellow colleague Dr. Liza Grant in their issue of "Primary Contact", of which the excerpt can be found HERE.
Dr. Scott is an official SportHealth partner of PacificSport (Vancouver Island) in affiliation with world class, champion athletes! For those not in the know, PacificSport helps Canada win medals by delivering sport performance programs and services to provide athletes and coaches living in BC with every advantage to win medals for Canada. To that end, Dr. Scott's clinic is now equipped to provide high performance sports testing and assessment for athletes. Additionally, Dr. Scott has been a past member of the Sports Medicine Staff involved with the UCI BMX World Championships, the Victoria International Marathon, the Professional World Cup of Track Cycling and the Vancouver Sun Run. She has also been a member of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College’s Student Interview Committee, interviewing potential candidates for admission to CMCC's program.
Dr. Scott's approach to treatment focuses on the biomechanics of the body and the principle that optimal joint function is based on proper soft tissue function and vice versa. She has found her enhanced training to complement her chiropractic approach, especially for long standing or repetitive strain injuries where joint, muscle or other soft tissue involvement is present. Emphasis is also placed on rehabilitation to improve strength, flexibility and mobility. Dr. Scott is passionate about chiropractic and is dedicated to effectively and efficiently treating the specific causes and symptoms of each patient's conditions.
Personally, Dr. Scott is an exercise enthusiast, completing her first marathon in 1999. She understands that complete health encompasses a healthy mind, healthy diet and a regular exercise program. She lives what she believes. To that end, she guides and encourages her patients to incorporate this formula into their daily lives.

Dr. Derek Brown was born and raised in Nanaimo British Columbia where he participated in a wide range of youth sports including soccer, baseball, tennis, and hockey. His hockey career culminated with 3-years as starting goaltender for the Oceanside Generals Jr. B Hockey Club. Dr. Brown went on to spend 5-years studying Kinesiology between Vancouver Island University and the University of Victoria, and a further 4 years earning his Doctor of Chiropractic designation from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
A multidisciplinary approach to care is best able to meet the varying needs of the modern patient, and Dr. Brown is happy to be a part of such a team at Woodgrove Pines Clinic. His personal approach includes addressing muscle tension with various hands-on soft tissue therapies, adjusting to restore normal joint mobility where appropriate, and providing personalized exercise and stretching recommendations to help maintain the benefits of the treatment. Dr. Brown firmly believes that Chiropractic care is the ideal approach to maintain the musculoskeletal integrity of the body, and to allow individuals to get out and enjoy their active island lifestyles.
Dr. Brown is currently planting deep roots in Nanaimo alongside his wife and daughter. He remains an avid sport and outdoor enthusiast, and is actively involved in the local hockey scene. Dr. Brown could not be more excited to now be giving back to the community that has provided him with so much.

Dr. Erickson uses a patient centered evidence-based approach to chiropractic care, utilizing his skills in diagnosing, soft tissue work, manual adjusting, exercise prescription and sports performance to guide his scope of practice. A Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP®) and receiving a Master’s in Sports and Exercise Science (MS), Dr. Erickson specializes in sports injuries and manages these conditions with a functional and sport/lifestyle specific approach to eliminate pain, improve performance and prevent re-injury. Dr. Erickson focuses his energy towards patients with active lifestyles, acute injuries, chronic injuries and over-use muscle pain and works on getting them back moving and doing the things they love.
Dr. Erickson started his path to becoming a sports physician by leaving his home in Alberta, Canada to study in Chicago and play NCAA baseball. Having undergone multiple elbow surgeries during his baseball career, he is familiar with the mental and physical rehabilitation process from both a doctor and patient standpoint which has increased his desire to help athletes and eliminate pain from people’s lives. He continued his studies at the University of Western States (UWS) in Portland where he received his Doctorate, Masters and an additional bachelor’s degree in human biology. Dr. Erickson has spent time teaching at UWS, working as a team physician/trainer with the Oregon Sports Rugby Union and has been involved as medical staff for the Portland Marathon, Seaside Volleyball Tournament, Multiple-Sclerosis Ride and the Nike Tennis Championships of Oregon to name a few. His free time is spent enjoying the outdoors, living an active lifestyle and simply sitting back and relaxing.

Dr. Gisella Ramon Brown is an enthusiast of learning, having graduated with distinction from the University of Victoria with an honours degree in Chemistry. During and after university, she worked for several years in chemical research at UVic as well as at Lifelabs Medical laboratories. After discovering the wonders of chiropractic through her own healing journey, she decided her true passion was not at a lab bench, but rather, helping heal others with her hands.
Dr. Ramon Brown pursued chiropractic at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude as the Valedictorian in the Doctor of Chiropractic program and accumulated an additional Bachelors of Science in Human Biology. She uses her knowledge of human anatomy, chiropractic medicine, nutritional advice and functional exercise to restore balance in the bodies and lives of her patients. Dr. Ramon Brown strongly encourages patients to become active participants in their healing process and empowers them with knowledge on how their bodies work.
During her education in chiropractic school, Dr. Ramon Brown realized her interest in treating pregnant women and children, although she welcomes anybody to her practice that desires a higher level of wellness and health. She believes in a true multidisciplinary approach to treating pregnancy-related pain, discomfort and functional issues. She is certified in Webster technique and excited about incorporating this into her practice routine.
Dr. Ramon Brown grew up on the small island of Ibiza in Spain before moving to Canada to pursue her studies. As such, she is fluent in English, Spanish and Catalonian. She was a competitive swimmer for 12 years and eventually began competing in open water swims. At age 14, she became the first woman to ever swim across the Ibiza-Formentera strait in the Balearic Islands (~20 km) off the East coast of Spain. Dr. Ramon Brown continues to love swimming and all other watersports. Additionally, she enjoys travelling, cooking, hiking and yoga. When not doing any of these, you may find her planning for her upcoming wedding next summer.

Dr. Ben Clark was raised in the northern interior town of Prince George, British Columbia. As a kid you would have found him participating in sports such as youth hockey, soccer, and wrestling or in the mountains snowboarding.
Dr. Clark went on to complete his undergraduate degree attaining his Bachelors of Physical Education from the University of Alberta. After graduation Dr. Clark spent time working both as a kinesiologist and strength & conditioning coach in a multidisciplinary clinic in Edmonton, Alberta. Dr. Clark has spent time coaching the fundamentals of sport performance and powerlifting with Special Olympics Alberta, he understands the importance of regular physical activity for both mental and physical growth.
Yearning to learn more, Dr. Clark continued his education earning his Doctor of Chiropractic designation from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario. Additionally, Dr. Clark is certified in the management and rehabilitation of concussion and concussion-related disorders (CCM).
Dr. Clark believes in empowering his patients to take an active role in their healthcare through education. To that end, he utilizes up-to-date information to provide the best treatment plans to manage his patients’ conditions. Dr. Clark’s treatments emphasize restoring ideal joint movements while improving soft tissue tone with an active rehabilitation component to prevent injury recurrence.
